It really is that dreaded time of the month for homeless women. With limited or no access to sanitary products, or private space to deal with the issue, they’re often forced to go without. Imagine waking up in the middle of the night with painful cramps, and a familiar damp, sticky feeling between your legs, with no way to stop the flow or clean yourself. Night after night.
It’s not that we’re not willing to donate, it’s just that we never seem think about ‘those’ issues in relation to those in need. By giving someone the ‘gift’ of personal hygiene you’re not only helping them feel more comfortable and dignified, you’re helping them ward off serious infections too.
